Module Indicative Content
This module builds on Level 1 work by challenging students with some of the complexities of appeal to Scriptures, of other religious traditions, and of ethical dimensions of youth work and ministry. Central questions of Biblical authority and hermeneutics are explored in relation to selected Old and New Testament books in order to discover their relevance for Christian youth work and ministry. Students visit a mosque or mandir, and a guest lecturer enables students to engage further with Islam. Students are introduced to contemporary approaches to ethics, and there is exploration of selected issues of Christian ethics that are vital to youth work and ministry.
Module Learning Strategies
150 hours, of which 72 will include interactive lectures, guest lectures and a visit to a religious centre, and the rest independent study. Interactive lectures will involve a combination of brainstorming, presentations, and other interactive teaching methods.
