Module Indicative Content
This module aims to develop students' communications skills and broaden their outlook by exploring the contribution youth work and ministry can make within formal educational and ecclesial settings.
Education and communication theory and skills for working in a variety of formal settings are introduced, taking cultural considerations into account. The variety of opportunities for youth workers to engage with young people in schools is explored, and evaluated and critiqued. The theology and practice of leading worship and preaching are introduced. Students develop, and deliver a short presentation to their peers, and contribute to assessment of the same.
Module Learning Strategies
150 hours, of which will include interactive lectures, training workshops, group discussions and exercises and seminars. and the rest independent study. Interactive lectures will involve a combination of brainstorming, student presentations, and other interactive teaching methods.
