Module Indicative Content
The aim of this module is to equip youth ministers to interpret and apply the Bible creatively and responsibly in a range of contexts. It explores educational and pastoral aspects of communicating the message of the Bible to particular groups of young people using a variety of methods. Building on principles for biblical interpretation introduced at Level 2, different theories of interpretation are examined in more depth. Building on the biblical knowledge acquired in levels one and two, it provides tools for studying narrative in the Old Testament and apocalyptic literature, with a particular focus on the books of Judges and Revelation. Students will research Biblical commentaries, dictionaries and other reference materials to inform their exegesis of passages and presentations that they make to their peer group.
