Module Indicative Content
This module provides the foundation for practical and theological reflection throughout the Ministry Development Programme. It offers an analysis of current social and political trends that sets the context for contemporary ministry. It draws upon contextual theology to enable students to reflect on their particular experiences and contexts of ministry. It explores selected biblical and theological resources for insights into ministry. It confronts the costs of, and griefs encountered in ministry and considers approaches to spirituality that may sustain ministry in the long term.

Module Learning Strategies
This module continues the three inter-related learning strategies for the programme. Taught workshops consist of interactive presentations, discussion, and critical debate. Tutorials allow discussion of the individual research that students are undertaking to prepare their assignments. Independent study allows reading around selected topics, the development of individual responses to the reading and the preparation for the assessed presentation and essay.
