Module Learning Strategies
This module will include three inter-related learning strategies:
1. Taught workshops that will consist of interactive presentations, discussion, and critical debate.
2. Individual tutorials that will allow for discussion of the organisational context for applying the learning, drawing on wider reading and recording entries in the learning diary
3. Independent study will allow reading around selected topics, the development of individual responses to the reading and reflection on practice that will contribute to the assessed learning diary and presentation.

Module Indicative Content
The aim of this module is to provide an advanced appreciation and critical evaluation of material that advocates the development of an organisational ethos in the social sectors (Charity, Community and Education Providers). Particular attention will be give to the student's own experience of organisations and the role of leaders in securing an organisational ethos.
The syllabus for this module will include key aspects of applied subject knowledge, including:
-Theories of leadership and management
-The concept of learning organisations
-Constructs for identifying organisational ethos
-Methods for developing an organisational ethos
-Tools for reflective practice and quality assurance
Module Additional Assessment Details
Learning Diary (3,000 words)
The student will be required to keep a learning diary of their reflections on leading/developing an organisational ethos. 70% [Learning Outcomes 1, 2, 3]
Individual Presentation (15 minutes)
The student will be required to present on how they have made a specific contribution to progressing their organisational ethos. 30%
