This module contains the final aspect of your practice placement experience during your course and will enable you to demonstrate application of the skills you have gained throughout your course in the clinical environment. You will learn to critically reflect on your own patient care and apply principles you have learned to enhance your practice.

Formal teaching aspects of this module will focus on wellbeing topics including solution focused brief therapy, positive forecasting, de-escalation, safeguarding yourself, peers and patients and strategies to overcome the fear of being accountable. Personal reflection vs Academic reflection will be covered with an introduction to wellbeing across a range of co-morbidities, legal and ethical issues, medical and surgical ethical dilemmas and simulations based on practice debrief, student feedback, practice partner feedback and emerging themes from new guidelines.

There will be opportunities for employability sessions – when to apply, searching for jobs, how to complete an application form well, and a recap on legal, ethical and professional values – moving from student to registrant. There will also be sessions surrounding service user wellbeing and recovery from surgery/illness (Service User led).
