Module Indicative Content
The aim of this module is to develop the students understanding of leadership and management and their role within the organisations strategic aims. Students will consider:
- Leadership and management styles
- Emotional intelligence
- Transactional analysis
- Goal setting
- Empowerment
- Organisational strategy
Module Additional Assessment Details
A work based assignment of 1500 words, weighted at 100%. (LO 1, 2 and 3)
This assignment will require the students to critically reflect of the performance of themselves and others in the leadership and management of staff within their working environment.
Module Learning Strategies
The learning strategy for this module requires students to commit 150 learning hours (including assessment). This will include 24 hours of class support and 126 hours of independent and self directed study.
The class sessions will include formal lectures, case study analysis and group discussions based on student experiences in the subject area. Students will be encouraged to integrate their work based experiences with new knowledge and skills developed in the classroom as the module progresses.
