Module Learning Strategies
The learning strategy for the module requires students to commit 150 learning hours (including assessment). Of this there will be 15 hours of tutor support, and 135 hours of self-directed study. Learning support material will be provided for the module.

The module will draw upon all of the following:
- Tutor-led sessions
- Group discussions
- One-to-one review of the student profile prior experience and personal development planning
Module Additional Assessment Details
A self review of prior learning experiences and career aspirations, including a Personal Development Plan. A review of a learning style self evaluation test. A summary of a proposed APL claim (if appropriate).

The completion of a Learning Contract detailing the award to be studied and the choice of modules (proforma submitted but not assessed). (1500 words, excluding Appendices and the Learning Contract) (100%) (Learning Outcomes 1 - 4)
Module Indicative Content
The module provides students with the opportunity to review their current academic and work experiences, to consider their personal aspirations and to plan a programme of study which reflects the outcome of the review process. This will include:

- The student's self evaluation of her/his personal development and the prior learning experience and the production of a Personal Development Plan.
- The recognition of learning styles will be examined.
- The extent of prior learning, which may form the basis of a claim for the Accreditation of Prior Learning (APCL and APEL).
- The choice of route through the award structures of their 'home' University.
- The choice and compatibility of modules outside their 'home' University.
- The potential subject areas for the negotiated Work Based Project module.
- an introduction to the University learning environment (e.g. library induction, accessing on-line resources)
- The preparation of reflective journals, to monitor progress against personal development plans will also be examined.
