Module Additional Assessment Details
A work based assignment (1500 words) based on the research of current trends in Beauty Therapy. You will be required to include an analysis of your findings to help justify the development of the new treatment / product. (75%). (Learning Outcomes 1 & 2).

A bulletin / briefing paper (500 words) to summarise the benefits of development to business. (25%) (Learning Outcome 3).

Module Learning Strategies
The learning strategy for this module requires students to commit 150 learning hours (including assessment). This will include 24 hours of class support and 126 hours of independent and self directed study.

The class sessions will include formal lectures, case study analysis and group discussions based on student experiences in the subject area. Students will be encouraged to integrate their work based experiences with new knowledge and skills developed in the classroom as the module progresses.
Module Indicative Content
This module is intended to demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of current trends in beauty therapy. This will include:

- Research two current non-invasive practices within the Beauty Therapy industry.
- Trace the origins of these practices, their content and the reasons for their development
- Reflecting on current trends, identify a new treatment/product and justify choice.
- The tangible business benefits that may be derived from a better understanding of trends in beauty therapy will be examined.
