Project proposal which provides a rationale for intervention in specific problems, incorporates a literature review of project management techniques and explains the data collection techniques to be used during the project (LO1 LO2 LO3) - 3000 words, Weighting 50%

Portfolio in a negotiated format (e.g. including electronic, diagrammatic or multi-media evidence) including their evaluation of the data collected in the project, the recommendations made and their reflection on their experience during the project (LO4 LO5 LO6) - equivalent to 3000 words, Weighting 50%

All learning outcomes are covered by two assessment methods. Students must attempt all assessments and achieve an overall pass grade for the module.

LO3 Work place research - primary and secondary research - research methodology - qualitative quantitative and mixed-method approaches - problems of workplace data collection - research techniques including sampling, survey methods, individual and focus group interviews - induction and deduction - specific approaches relevant to the context of the student's award
