An important part of the learning strategy is direct supervision of the group project by an allocated supervisor. The timing and nature of the supervision will be arranged between the supervisor and students but will amount to a minimum of 2 hours over the duration of the project.
In the 145 hours of independent and self-directed study students are expected to engage with the learning material on the module website, undertake additional research / reading, relate the subject to their workplace, investigate issues and problems and communicate with experts in the organisation, as well as collaborating effectively on project tasks including gathering data, analysis, problem solving and write-up.
A key element of your learning on this module will be from your peer group, both the project group itself and those in the organistion with whom you interact to progress your project.
It is expected that a variety of academic concepts and theories to be applied in the work environment to enhance the ability to deal with the continually changing needs of the commercial or public sector.
The class sessions will include formal lectures, case study analysis and group discussions based on student experiences in the subject area. Students will be encouraged to integrate their work based experiences with new knowledge and skills developed in the classroom as the module progresses
