Module Learning Strategies
Residential (Knowing Me, Knowing You) plus practical workshops (IT and finance related) , Students Presentations Case studies, Private reading and reflection.

This module may be offered in block delivery, with concentrated learning sessions facilitated by an appropriate tutor. The use of action learning sets will be a major tool in enhancing the experience. Outside of this, time material will be available on the VLE (Blackboard) to support these contact sessions and to encourage deeper learning. Where appropriate, workplace mentors will support and encourage their learners with access to relevant company information and people.

1. Self awareness, dimensions of personality and individual differences
2. Characteristics of effective teams and team building, assertiveness, inter-personal communication,
3. Systematic and evidence-based decision-making
4 Lead and influence others more effectively. Effective supervision and team leadership, coaching and mentoring, effective delegation,
5. Information handling skills, commonly used IT applications and software packages, interpreting financial information, statistical techniques and the presentation of statistical data.
6. Selection interviewing, appraisal interviewing, disciplinary interviewing, delivering training, making presentations, project management, managing poor performance (including absence, lateness and incompetence).
7. Accessing and evaluating published research evidence, critical thinking, developing and justifying original arguments, referencing the work of others, effective essay and report-writing. Effective revision and examination preparation.
