Module Indicative Content
Medical case history taking and examination.
The student should be able to perform an examination routine to the following body systems: musculo-skeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, urinary tract, nervous system, eye, ear, nose and throat, blood and lymph, skin, gynaecological and obstetric.
Identify radiological and imaging techniques, their application and interpretation.
Identify medical investigations pertinent to osteopathic practice.
Module Learning Strategies
24 hours practical workshops.
6 hours formative OSCE.
Specify the number of independent study hours attributed to each type of activity (eg reading / assessment preparation). Total hours should equate to Independent Study Hours identified on page 1 of this form.
15 hours background reading; 15 hours peer-group practice of examination routines.

OSPE 100%
Learning outcomes 1, 2, 3 and 4 are assessed in the OSCE.
All elements of the module assessment must be passed in order to complete the module.
Additional Assessment Details (include formative feedback / assessment):
There will be a formative assessment opportunity, which will take place one month prior to the summative OSCE. The students will complete a peer-assessed formative OSCE in class and receive written feedback .
