Module Indicative Content
This module aims to develop the ability to apply osteopathic principles and practices to a wide range of patient groups and conditions. Students will review the biomechanics of the body within this module, in a fully integrated format, both in function and dysfunction, in order to consolidate understanding of the complex and inter-related nature of the structure and function of the human body. This module will also provide an opportunity to look at the ranges of osteopathic management, including technique, lifestyle advice, exercises and referral mechanisms and how and when these may need to be altered.

This module will develop a high level of integration of knowledge. Students will refine and critically appraise their experiences of osteopathic approaches, taking into account all aspects of professional practice. Much of the learning at this level is directed towards integration of learning and refinement of effective communication skills to a high level and consolidating their understanding and practice of osteopathy.

Exploring structure and function relationships within specific types of pain presentations.
Consideration of the particular cases of sports injuries, geriatric, visceral and paediatric and obstetric patients.
Additional integrated biomechanics and osteopathic techniques.
Integration of a range of healthcare models
Formulation of differential diagnoses.
Adaptation in case management according to the needs of the patient.
Revision of case history structure, examination strategy and case presentation by linking and reviewing general health issues and pathologies, in a patient that happens to present with musculo skeletal dysfunction
