Module Indicative Content
This module builds on the critical appraisal skills developed at level 5 and aims to provide students with the tools they need to synthesise the evidence from published research in order to produce a literature review which can then be used to develop advice leaflets for osteopathic practitioners and/or patients
The module covers key concepts in relation to rationale for literature reviews, hierarchy of evidence, developing research questions, designing and implementing literature searches (using electronic databases and paper based research, libraries), further critical appraisal (using validated tools), synthesis of findings, discussion of findings, writing up literature reviews in academic style and production of information leaflets for patients and/or practitioners.

Literature Review (3000 words) 75% weighting. (LO's 1,2,3 and 5)
Practitioner or Patient Information Sheet (1500 words) 25% weighting. (LO 4)
Both elements must be passed
