INDICATIVE CONTENT
At this stage, students will be competent in the biomechanics of the body and able to interpret it both in function and dysfunction. This module aims to close the gap between theory and practice by thoughtfully considering one's own experiences in applying knowledge to practice in order to improve the quality of care provided, stimulating personal and professional growth, looking at lifestyle advice and referral mechanisms and how and when these may need to be altered. Exploring structure and function relationships within specific types of pain presentations. Additional integrated biomechanics and osteopathic techniques. Formulation of differential diagnoses. Reflection on osteopathic intervention. Adaptation in case management according to the needs of the patient. Communication and presentation skills.

(Subject Benchmark Statement: Osteopathy: A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,J,K,L,M)
ASSESSMENT DETAILS
Combined exam (50%) - 15 minutes practical – 15 minutes written, assessed by LO 1, 2, 3
Case study presentation (50%) - 15 minutes, assessed by LO 4, 5, 6
All elements must be passed

Additional Assessment Details (include formative feedback / assessment):

Students will be required to contribute to an in-class formative class discussion with peers for discussions of cases in practical cards.
Opportunities for formative feedback, will be given during group work in practice for cases in practical cards.
Draft feedback for case presentation submission before final submission.
