Assessment Details
1. Written assignment length 2000 words, weighted at 100% (assessing LO's 2 and 3)

Written assignment: students must critically evaluate a Paramedic clinical intervention which includes recommendations for future practice.

2. Clinical Practice Assessment Document 0% (pass/refer) (assessing LO's 1, 2 and 4)

Clinical Practice Assessment Document: continuous clinical practice assessment which will demonstrate competence in relevant areas. This will require a signature against all clinical competencies.

3. 30 minutes of assessment via OSCE 0% (pass/refer) (assessing all LO's)

30 minutes of assessment via OSCE (assessing all LO's), which is split into three separate assessments, each weighted at 0% (pass/refer). Students will be expected to demonstrate competence in key life-saving skills (and in associated problem-solving abilities). The individual elements required are:

• 15 minutes – Advanced Life Support OSCE

• 5 minutes – Paediatric Basic Life Support OSCE (incorporating questioning on Paediatric Advanced Life Support)

• 10 minutes – Intraosseous Access OSCE

Each of these elements will be assessed on the same assessment date, and must be passed to obtain an overall OSCE pass. However, in the event of failure, students will only be expected to reattempt the individual element failed.

Formative Feedback / Assessment:
OSCE, MCQs, Group work, Group tutorials, Clinical Practice Assessment
