A critical discussion of a pre-hospital case-based incident or scenario incorporating learning outcomes 1-4
INDICATIVE CONTENT
Communication systems; scene management; kinematics and traumatic mechanisms of injury; civilian and military approaches to trauma management (including Major Incident Medical Management); triage systems, mass casualty management; stress management and debriefing.
The normal physiological response to trauma across the age continuum; issues related to pregnancy and underlying health conditions. An evaluation of current assessment principles, and associated guidelines; an exploration of accepted systems of pre-hospital treatment; specific treatment options.
