MODULE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. Acquire and realise a range of key physical, vocal, technical/digital and performative skills specific to acting and theatre performance.
2. Gain an informed knowledge and understanding of the history and development of theatre production, performance and making in both Western and non-western contexts.
3. Demonstrate an embodied understanding of performance skills through practical exploration and etude work.
MODULE ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT DETAILS
[L.O. 1, 3] Assessment 1: Practical etudes
Negotiated practical performance assessment/s to evidence and demonstrate the application of core skills, 60-minute duration in total. The content and form of the practice will be negotiated and agreed between you and the module tutor, and a learning agreement will be established so expectations are clear.
[L.O. 2,3] Assessment 2: Portfolio
A portfolio which will document your skills development and training experienced throughout the module. This should also show an appropriate knowledge and understanding of the theories and methodologies underpinning and supporting the practical skills (equivalent of 2,000 words). The content may include class & lecture notes, warm-up plans, class-based tests, nutrition and fitness plans, personal development goals or suitable negotiated outcomes.

MODULE INDICATIVE CONTENT
In this module you will acquire and practice a range of fundamental techniques and skills in acting, performance and theatre making. These will include classes and skills technique workshops in voice, embodiment, acting, design and scenography, devising and writing.
You will also learn about the emergence and development of theatre making and performance in a global perspective through practical explorations, and research and study examples of innovative twentieth and twenty-first century practice.

- Anatomy & Physiology (Body and Voice),
- Fitness, Wellbeing & Nutrition
- Embodiment and somatic practice
- Devising skills for content creation
- Improvisation
- Design and Scenography for theatre makers.
- Self-Reflection and Goal Setting
- Performance Analysis
- Historical and Current Theatre Repertoire.
You will also be introduced to technical instruction skills in basic editing and camera / sound operation work.

Want to develop performance skills in a creative and focused environment? This module allows to do just that. Through dynamic classes in acting, voice and movement our experienced lecturers will support you to further develop your existing skills and encourage you to reach your real potential. You will also learn about the emergence and development of theatre, acting, performance and drama from a variety of Western and Non-Western contexts.
MODULE LEARNING STRATEGIES
You will learn from actively engaging with timetabled classes in studio and classroom settings, developing and advancing fundamental performance skills and actively exploring a variety of relevant strategies to develop, inform and sustain this intensive practice. You will be required to continually reflect upon your personal skills development and identify areas for improvement. Your learning will be supported by frequent feedback from tutors and peers, as well as your own reflective practice.
