Indicative Content
This module represents the culmination of all your previous education and training. Within a team and in your role as a scriptwriter, you will help to develop and create a complex and extensive film or television production. You will adopt a high-level creative approach to scriptwriting, using new and existing skills, as you work towards your identified objectives. As a result, the finished product will exhibit your significant and improved scriptwriting skills and abilities.

The module begins by thoroughly exploring the requirements for producing a major moving image product within current local, national and international industries and markets. You will develop a strategic plan that will underpin and inform your moving image production processes including your scriptwriting contribution. The plan will demonstrate how you will meet the requirements of producing a major project within a chosen industry/market, which will include production timelines, roles and responsibilities, allocation of human and physical resources, marketing strategy, and distribution (broadcasting and/or screening) strategy. To justify and support your plan, you are expected to explore and consider historical, cultural and social contexts in which your production and scriptwriting is placed including associated critical debates. Informed by your plan and research, you will make a creative and/or technical contribution to the pre-production, production and/or post-production stages of your project. You are expected to draw on your previous experiences, education and training, including peer and lecturer feedback, to enhance your professional, artistic and technical capabilities. You will be encouraged to invite an audience, including potentially industry practitioners and agents, to the screening of your finished production, to give you exposure as a scriptwriter and opportunities for securing employment in the film and television sectors.

Note, you may link your project to the creative item, service or business idea that you generated from your Industry Pitch module in semester 1. At all times, you are expected to apply professional standards reflective of an entry level film and TV practitioner, demonstrating qualities consistent with those expected when working on an extensive moving image production.
Learning Strategies
This module begins by introducing the requirements of the module, the assignment brief and the strategic direction for the extensive collaborative project. Learning will be facilitated through a range of group sessions (i.e. lectures and workshops) and individual tutorials, as follows:
¿ Research activities including an exploration of existing work via streaming services, DVD, internet, cable and satellite
¿ Planning workshops
¿ Theoretical and contextual studies workshops
¿ Ideas generation activities and design planning
¿ Technical and professional skills recap activities appropriate to the genre
¿ Health and safety recap
¿ Reflective practice recap

As the module progresses, learning strategies will focus on your development as a professional and will therefore be situated in work-based practice rather than in classroom-based learning. The production element of the module will draw on industry-based activities such as:
¿ Creative and technical pre-production and production workshops
¿ 1:1 and group tutorials
¿ Group critique
¿ Problem solving exercises
¿ Summative product presentation and testing
¿ Reflective practice
