The learning contract will demonstrate [Learning Outcomes 2, 5, 6]
The 'report' is a reflective learning report. It will comprise a reflection on approximately six months of doctoral study, drawing as appropriate on a learning diary. Equivalent to 2,000 words, it will demonstrate [Learning Outcomes 1 - 4 and 6]
Indicative Content
An introduction to research awards and an overview of the structure of the award. Research skills including preparation of the research programme, project management, literary reviews, presentation skills and working with your supervisor along with the regulatory and procedural aspects of the award. Devising and implementing a negotiated learning contract. Reflective and self-critical independent learning.
Learning Strategies
1 x day workshop delivered by multi-disciplinary team teaching, plus arranged contact with award tutor or with supervisors to discuss assessments. Extensive further documentation, presentations and resources on Blackboard.
Independently managed learning will include self analysis and discussion with the personal supervisor in order to identify negotiated learning needs and opportunities; and maintenance of a some form of reflective learning diary.
