Module Indicative Content
The module deals with groups of photographs made on a common theme and considers them together as a visual text that can be 'read' as a photographic essay. You will be making photographs that concentrate on their aesthetic form and will learn how to arrange the images in sequence to make a narrative that is constructed, expressive, has meaning and communicates to others. Written words will be minimised to titles, captions and occasional quotations. Working with examples from seminal photographers and other visual media you will be introduced to some questions and theories about beauty and to the critical reading of photographs as well as the making of your own images.
