Module Indicative Content
This module gives you the opportunity to work using an editorial approach to photography, enabling you to identify visual strategies and editing skills that are necessary to create believable editorial images.
You will be introduced to the studio and shown how to use basic studio lighting both in the studio and on location.
For this module you will be asked to produce photographs both individually and as part of a group. This work should primarily address the visual message but will need to consider the framework of how such images are contextualized by headline, caption and text, and how house styles of magazines can lead the shooting style you adopt.
Module Additional Assessment Details
You will present a body of coursework for assessment, including:
A visual diary documenting your pictorial development, contextual research, and your contribution to the group work. [Learning Outcome 2,3]
An edited set of finished photographs [Learning Outcomes 1,2]
A presentation; of a piece of work developed by your group intended for magazine publication. [Learning Outcomes 3]
