Module Indicative Content
This module provides an introduction to the professional photographic studio, to studio electronic flash lighting equipment and to applied techniques of lighting for different studio approaches and for safe working practices. Studio practice frequently is a collaborative working environment and therefore cooperation as part of a team is essential. As part of the module you will be 'working with others' helping you to develop good interpersonal skills and to understand what is expected from such positions as a photographic assistant. You will also be compiling a shooting log which will detail what equipment you have used and have it was set up. This allows you to accurately cross reference the studio `set-up¿ with the finished photograph/s.The module also introduces you to the differences in working with medium format cameras, both film and digitally, and an overview of the large format (5x4) studio monorail and location field camera.

It also provides an introduction to working on location and how to deal with the variety of lighting conditions that are likely to be encountered in an 'uncontrolled' (non-studio) environment. The technical instruction component to this module constitutes the Health and Safety prerequisites that allows you loan provision for the particular cameras covered and studio lighting equipment.
