Students will determine their own reading list appropriate to their personal proposal of work, with staff guidance. Students are expected to take advantage of the extensive library facilities within the University, keeping abreast of current developments within the field of ceramics through appropriate periodicals.
Module Additional Assessment Details
You will present for assessment a body of work, including:
A visual diary documenting your research and personal contribution to the commission [Learning Outcomes 1,2].
A pictorial workbook evidencing the development of pictorial/design strategies [Learning Outcomes 3,4].
A professionally delivered presentation to the client [Learning Outcomes 2,4].
Module Indicative Content
You will be given the opportunity and experience of working on a professional commission for a non-university client. The way in which a creative idea is influenced by client requirements will be considered, as will industrial and/or user constraints together with the meeting of deadlines. Supported by market and visual research, you will be required to generate a range of ideas and use appropriate photographic processes in the production of a body of work. This will result in a professional presentation of your work to the client.
