Module Indicative Content
This module provides the opportunity to work in a professional capacity on a placement or commission or both, within the Photographic industry or related areas.
You are encouraged to arrange placements and/or commissions with employers and organisations working in those areas of Photography, or allied fields which, interest you as possible career options: Some examples are: Education, Newspapers, Magazines, Professional Studios: Fashion, Advertising, Press offices, PR companies and many more.
You will support these experiences with your own research around your chosen placement or commission.
Throughout the module you will participate in individual and group tutorials, which will provide you with guidance around presentations, working professionally and academic project support. The final result of your experiences will culminate in a professional presentation of your experiences aimed at your client.
Module Additional Assessment Details
You will present a body of coursework for assessment, including:
A reflective report on your time in your commission(s) and/or placement(s)-(indicative word count for the report of 2,000)

A Portfolio of evidence including: placement/commission confirmations and correspondence, supported by documentation of work produced during the placement or commission, which can include images and pictorial development where appropriate. [Learning Outcomes 1,2,3,4,5]

Module Texts
Students will determine their own reading list appropriate to their personal proposal of work, with staff guidance. Students are expected to take advantage of the extensive library facilities within the University, keeping abreast of current developments within the field of photography through appropriate periodicals.
