-This module includes learning about the legal, ethical and copyright issues that you are likely to encounter in professional medical illustration practice.

-You will learn about the legal protection of authorship or ownership of images, key legal and ethical issues in dealing with patients and data relating to patients and you will be required to reflect on issues of patient dignity, cultural, religious and ethnic beliefs.

-You will also learn how to recognise and describe a range of anatomical features and specific medical conditions, using diagrams and the appropriate medical terminology to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding.

Assignment 2 (Anatomy & Physiology) Question-based assignment that will assess knowledge & understanding of key medical terminology and practises. [Learning Outcomes 1-4]

Due to PSRB requirements, all elements of assessment must be passed in order to pass the module overall.

Formative Assessment: Midway formative feedback will be embedded via the draft system, providing structured opportunities for feedback on work-in-progress to support student development and progression.

At the beginning of this module you will be introduced to all of the research resources that are available to you, both at the university and in your place of work, and you will attend two online induction sessions. You will then complete a series of coursework assignments, based on your independent research and learning, on the key topics of the module: legal, ethical and copyright issues and anatomy and medical terminology.

You will submit answers to a series of questions for each topic. Your independent learning will be supported by online materials, and you will also be expected to access resources within your workplace.

1. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of key legal and ethical issues in medical illustration, and of relevant issues in surface anatomy, anatomical positioning, medical terminology, structure and function.
