This wide-ranging module enhances the learners understanding of police standards, professional conduct, organisational justice and culture, vulnerability and risk including youth gangs and people at risk of harm.
This module incorporates all the learning outcomes and indicative content from the College of Policing, Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship Curriculum for the following areas:

The below is a brief summary of what the content includes:
Policies, policies and organisations concerned with ensuring professional standards and policing practice.
Examine why people fail to comply with policies, procedures and protocols and review previous instances of such behaviour.
Potential insider threat from within the police service and strategies to prevent it
Misuse of position of authority to commit sexual offences.
Organisational justice and strategies for dealing with organisational culture.
Team dynamics, team-building skills and strategies to enhance the individual and teams
Evaluation of what works in tackling repeat victimisation and repeat offending
Youth gangs and the targeting of vulnerable people
Organisational structures and inter-relationships in counter-terrorism policing

Module Addtional Assessment Details
1. Assessment 1 will take the form of a 10-minute oral examination on a range of curriculum material. This will assess learning outcomes 1,2,5.
2. The reflective diary will allow the student to critically analyse professional standards approaches and review progress made. Students will show understanding of the topic and ability to critically consider how this could be viewed within the concepts of leadership, team-work, wellbeing and resilience. This assessment will address learning outcomes 1, 2 and 3.
3. Students will work in small groups and develop a visual presentation on approaches to prevent repeat victimisation and offending. This presentation will assess learning outcomes 3 and 4.
