Module Additional Assessment Details
1. The blog will assess learning outcomes 2 and 3. The blog will focus on the use of media, including social media in engaging communities. The learner will either produce a written blog of no longer than 1500 words or visually record a blog of no longer than 7 minutes.

2. The reflective diary will allow the student to critically analyse national policing strategies and principles of leadership as a police constable. This assessment will address learning outcomes 1 and 4.

Module Indicative Content
This module provides the learner with advanced understanding of strategic policing considerations, the use of social media in effective communication strategies and principles of leadership.

This module incorporates all the learning outcomes and indicative content from the College of Policing, Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship Curriculum for the following areas:

• The strategic context of policing and relevant national policing strategies
• The meaning of ‘profession’ and the role of the College of Policing in ‘professionalising’ policing
• The use of media, including social media to engage with communities and promote police initiatives
• The principles of a communication strategy and how to deal effectively with the media in a policing context
• Key principles of leadership for police constables.
