Assessment of independent patrol status - pass/fail

Failure of this module prevents the student officer from securing accreditation via the College of Policing professionalising Investigations Programme (PIP Level 2) to investigate serious and complex crime.

Module Learning Strategies

Students will take the National Investigators Examination (NIE) in the latter quarter of Year 1 of the Detective Constable Degree Holder Entry Programme.

Prior to taking the examination they will be afforded 5 days of protected study time within the periods of Force operational deployment and attend a Force supplied ‘Crammer’ Course delivered at expense of the Force by an external provider

Ongoing support will be provided by the Force NIE Coordinator.
