Module Indicative Content
This module will focus on the application of theory to clinical practice by a combination of classroom based theory and supervised, assessed clinical practice. Throughout the module discussion will include meeting individual needs, regardless of age, race, culture and sexuality. Professional, legal and ethical perspectives will be explored. Sessions will include exploration of the following areas of clinical practice:
Sexual History taking
Diversity and Sexual health
Law and Sexual health
Patient Group Directions (PGD's)
Fertility Issues
Men's Sexual Health
Sexual Assault
Diagnosis, screening and treatment of commonly occurring Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI's)
Partner Notification
Blood Bourne Virus Testing
Immunisation/Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and anaphylaxis training
Introduction to Psychosexual problems

A 3000 word critical reflection (written assignment) on an aspect of Sexual Health practice (contributes to meeting all LO's) Weighting 100%
Achievement of the Clinical learning Outcomes. Weighting 0% (pass/fail)
Detailed clinical learning outcomes contained within the clinical assessment document
Assessment is in two parts; both elements need to gain a pass for successful completion of the module.
