Module Special Admissions Requirements
Students should be recognised members, or are working towards appropriate clinical professional membership, so that they can become members of the BSCAH (British Society of Clinical and Academic Hypnosis).
Module Indicative Content
This module will develop the student's understanding of a range of language patterns, models of communication with specific reference to hypnosis, including a range of techniques and exercises for personal excellence.
The indicative content will include:
Language patterns and the meta-model
Pacing and Leading
The use of Anchors
Visualisation and the use of SWISH
The rewind technique, used for post traumatic stress disorders and phobias etc
The Time Line and its use in therapy
Goal Setting.
Module Additional Assessment Details
The assignment consists of:
3 case studies which will relate to patients of the students choice and must demonstrate different aspects of their work with hypnosis. (contributes to meeting LO's 1,2,3 and 4).
Viva Voce (20mins)
The viva will test the student's depth and level of gained understanding, knowledge, skills and competence in the practice of hypnotherapy. (contributes to meeting LO 5)
Both elements of assessment must be passed.
Formative Assessment:
Students will be provided with the opportunity for formative feedback informally throughout the module and through individual tutorial support and feedback including study group processes, use of personal log or reflectice diary.
