Module Indicative Content
Organisational Culture and its impact on change - to explore the history and concept of organisations and their culture as it impacts on change.
Change Theories - to critically examine a variety of change theories and how they can assist in changing local and national policies, allowing change in practice to occur.
Role of the Change Agent - students to develop knowledge regarding effective change agents, as an aspect of change leadership including discussion of the role of change agent, different theories that apply and group work to explore change/leadership traits.
Barriers & catalysts in Change - to explore the barriers that can impede change taking place, define the barriers and catalysts, consider the origins of resistance to change and explore ways of overcoming them.
Change strategies: evaluate the various stages involved in the management of change, recognising reasons why change strategies may run into problems to determine the importance of evaluating change.
Change processes: to evaluate the importance of measuring and monitoring change - significance of measurement, examine practice and national issues, examining commonly used measurement tools.
Leadership & Teamwork: explore the concepts of team and teamwork and consider its application in relation to change, including recognition of characteristics of effective teams. To explore the relevance of leadership in relation to change.

3,000 word written assignment - on a proposal for change in the students own area of practice. 100%

Formative Assessment / feedback:
This will be given via individual tutorials, student presentations and discussion of their proposal for change by tutorial and peer feedback and questioning
