A desk based dissertation which addressed a pertinent issue or challenge which has arisen from the students work base/ clinical practice
(assessing all learning outcomes)

Formative feedback will be provided via group presentation and 1:1 discussion
Module Indicative Content
This module will encourage you to focus applying research evidence to your every day work practice the content therefore will introduce you to:
Working reflexively - identifying challenges or issues in the work place
Identifying and accurately writing research questions
Exploring the evidence base - literature searching/ types of literature/ ensuring you have good quality evidence
Understanding the evidence and its relative utility
Methods and methodology - understanding the difference
Writing a literature review - types and approaches
Arriving at conclusions and proposing a way forward/ making recommendations for improvement
Ethics and ethical sensitivity more generally

Web Descriptor
This is unique module which builds on your existing knowledge and experience of working in health and social care situations and the evidence base used in your own practice area.  This module will encourage you to focus on applying research evidence to your everyday working practice. The academic skills that you will be able to develop include effectively reviewing the literature, critical appraisal of research and effective communication via written analysis and summary of the research in order to answer a question devised by yourself.   This module will require your full participation in both the classroom and supervision sessions.
