INDICATIVE CONTENT
The nature of education in healthcare is constantly changing. Professionals need to ensure that their knowledge and practice are up to date to ensure they are equipped to meet the needs of patients or service users. Educational delivery therefore requires constant updates and revisions to ensure the ongoing contemporary requirements of professionals are met. The context of educational settings is also shaped by political agendas at local and national levels. This module assists with the identification of the social, economic and cultural factors that shape contemporary agendas. It is also vital to recognise that the knowledge, principles and values related to teaching and learning also change over time. Educators must critically engage with trends associated with the teaching and assessment of diverse groups of learners. In addition, the module considers influences such as equality, inclusion and diversity, leadership and management, and multi-professional learning.
