Module Indicative Content
This module will introduce you to the background and the need to present ideas and information in two and three dimensions and its role within the professional practice of design.
An outline of the key methods and techniques associated with two dimensional presentation which will include marker rendering, coloured pencils and pastels, line weight drawings, and perspective
You will develop a basic level of competence in the various materials and methods used through experimentation.
The culmination of the module will be an individual portfolio of work demonstrating competence and application of the above.
Module Learning Strategies
Watching demonstrations of various drawing, rendering and layout techniques.
Experimenting with a number of techniques for visual representation in 2 dimensions.
Independently developing your visualisation and layout skills in the studio, workshop, other parts of the university and at home and organising your work load
Presenting your work in a competent, professional and organised manner.

Students are expected to take advantage of the extensive library facilities available within the University; keeping abreast of current developments through appropriate periodicals, CD-ROMs, online resources and be aware of the work of major practitioners within the field of product and industrial design.
