1) Two multiple choice questionnaires (20% each). Learning Outcomes 1 and 3
2) Two 1500 word essays (30% each), choice restricted to ensure that two areas from social, cognitive, developmental and individual differences are addressed. Learning Outcomes 2 and 4
Module Indicative Content
The module will include learning units covering basic introductory psychology in five areas - social psychology, cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, biological psychology and individual differences. Examples of specific topics include attitudes; groups; prejudice; memory and problem solving; learning; perception; life-span; social and cognitive development; development of the nervous system; intelligence and personality.

FIrst degree in discipline other than psychology - this reflects the module's position in a route providing entry to the Graduate Diploma in Psychology.
Module Learning Strategies
The module wil be delivered by Distance Learning, using Blackboard. Students will have access to learning materials and work through them independently at their own pace. Material will include exposition, formative self-assessment activities, feedback and guidance for further reading. Students will have access to tutor support via email.
