Development of the client counsellor relationship
- Recognising and responding to verbal and non-verbal signals
- Application of theory to practice - core models
- Transference and counter-transference (client and counsellor)
- Time management / boundaries
- Codes of ethics and practice
- Working in an integrative way
- Client assessment and history
- Consent and ethical parameters
Module Additional Assessment Details
A 2,500 words critical evaluation of own performance including reference to a transcript of 20 mins of tape weighted at 100% (addressing LO's 1 and 5)
1 x 50 min audio tape of counselling session (addressing LO's 2,3, and 4) pass/fail

both elements of assessment must be passed

Formative - Q and A, discussion, peer evaluation and feedback, self-evaluation, reflective journal,
role-play, quiz, presentation, debate, Profile of formal and informal feedback sheets from peers and tutors.
