Module Learning Strategies
Learning strategies will reflect a variety of learning styles and include lectures; discussion based on videos, work practice, directed and independent reading. Students will be encouraged and guided towards reflecting on their own practice and the practice of others in early year's settings.
Module Indicative Content
This module will help you to demonstrate:
A critical understanding of the principle that early years settings should provide for the needs of all children, including those with sensory and learning needs, gifted children, children from remote and nomadic populations, children from linguistic, ethnic or religious minorities and children from other disadvantaged or marginalised areas or groups.
A critical awareness of historical perspectives to include the Universal Declaration of Human Rights 1948, the Warnock Report and the 1981 Act. The proposals of the Children Act, 1989 and the 1990 World conference on Education for All, 1993 UN standard Rules on the Equalisation of opportunities
A critical appreciation of the requirements of the law in relation to work practice and evaluate how early year's settings can accommodate a wide range of diversity.
