Module Details
INDICATIVE CONTENT
In this module you will be introduced to the professional, legal and ethical frameworks that will support your counselling practice. You will develop a comprehensive understanding of the BACP’s Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and relevant legal requirements in order to practice competently. Guidance will also be provided in how to identify suitable placement opportunities, and how to contact organisations and prepare for interviews.

ASSESSMENT DETAILS
Assessment consists of a 1500 word report, demonstrating an understanding of the legal, ethical, professional and organisational issues, in addition to the role of supervision, in supporting trainee counsellors within a counselling agency/placement situated in the local community. weighted at 100%. (assessing all LO's)

Formative learning:
Students will be given feedback in group tutorials centred on the development of a plan for their work
LEARNING STRATEGIES

16 hours lectures
4 hours group tutorials

Guided Independent Study: (180 hours)
Including internet research, reading and library study, assignment preparation and group activities in preparation for ethical discussions
