INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module introduces you to the major theories of development across the lifespan. You will have the opportunity to explore the main physical and psychological factors affecting human growth and development, including cultural influences and how they need to be understood in a counselling context.

ASSESSMENT DETAILS
Presentation that demonstrates a critical and reflective view of factors that affect human development and the counselling process. 30 min weighted at 100%. (LO’s 1, 2 & 3)
Formative learning:
Students will be given feedback in group tutorials centred on the development of a plan for their work
LEARNING STRATEGIES
Scheduled Learning and Teaching Activities: (30 hours)
20 hours lectures
10 hours group work/ individual Student activities
Guided Independent Study: (170 hours)
Including internet research, reading and library study, assessment preparation, group activities in preparation for presentations, and group activities in preparation for group tutorials
