Module Additional Assessment Details
Summative assessment
Summative feedback will take the following form:
A report of a meta-analysis based on summary information from a number of studies. (50%) (learning outcomes 1 and 4)
A report of an analysis on a large data set utilising one of the multivariate techniques covered in the module (50%) (learning outcomes 2, 3 and 4)
Each report will be in the form of a brief introduction, a results section and a discussion section, and will be accompanied by an appendix which will include all computer output and a commentary on the decisions taken during the process.

Formative learning
Formative feedback will be given during the workshops while the exercises are being worked through.
Module Indicative Content
The method of reviewing literature via Meta-Analysis will be covered. An overview of multivariate designs and their analysis will be presented. A selection of multivariate analyses will be covered in greater depth: looking at the designs they are appropriate for, how to conduct them using statistical software and how to interpret and report their results.
Module Learning Strategies
24 hours workshops during which material will be introduced and exercises will be carried out.
126 hours during which the following tasks will occupy your time: reading the concepts covered in the workshops, completing the exercises, reading relevant literature to the assignments and conducting and writing the assignments.
Module Resources
A laboratory with space for group work as well as formal teaching, to be equipped with a computer for each student which has statistical, word processing, spreadsheet and internet programs.
Module Special Admissions Requirements
