Module Details
INDICATIVE CONTENT
Each year students will be able to select two topics within psychology from a list of specialist areas that will change to reflect staff expertise, student interest and contemporary developments within the discipline. Topics that might be included are:

- Health Psychology
- Children and Pictures
- Cyberpsychology
- Parapsychology
- Neuropsychological Disorders
- Behavioural medicine

Within each topic a programme of learning will address key topics and approaches within that topic.
ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT DETAILS
For coursework 1 and 2 you will be provided with a choice of coursework options; the specific coursework will depend on the topics chosen but some examples include a report, an advisory brief, an essay and a blog. Coursework 1 and 2 will demonstrate that you have met module learning outcomes 1 and 2 whilst developing expertise in specific areas of psychology.

Coursework 2 will also require you to consider their topic choices and reflect upon your learning in relation to their wider personal development and will demonstrate that you have met module learning outcome 3.

Formative assessment
Formative assessment: This will take place through class-based activities and/ may include peer and tutor feedback. There will be sessions where students can get assessment preparation feedback and guidance.
LEARNING STRATEGIES
Depending on topics chosen, sessions may include lectures, workshop activities, discussions, groupwork, drop-in support sessions, and assignment preparation session.

1. Demonstrate detailed contemporary knowledge and a systematic critical understanding of psychological theories and evidence relevant to specific topics within psychology.

TEXTS
A bespoke reading list will be provided for each topic. This will be comprised of contemporary resources available within our current library (online and on campus) provision and these lists will be updated regularly.
