Module Additional Assessment Details
Students will be required to complete 2 pieces of summative assessment:
Problem Based Learning assignment comprising:
a) Group Seminar Presentation: 50%
Addresses outcomes 1, 2, 3 & 4
And:
b) Individual Report (1500 words): 50%
Addresses outcomes 1, 3 & 4
Students will be provided with formative assessment and feedback via structured written feedback identifying strengths, weaknesses and guidance for improvement.
Module Indicative Content
This module focuses on the relationship between personal and professional issues in clinical practice. A reflective module it will introduce trainees to issues around personal and professional boundaries and values as well as professional codes of conduct. It will focus on safe and ethical working practices - particularly around personal safety and risk assessment. Trainees will be introduced to core observation, communication and counselling skills (in line with BPS competencies and the NHS KSF). This module will help trainees to collect, synthesise and analyse information which will be used for psychological assessment and formulation. Trainees will be given an opportunity to understand team and group processes and to use this understanding to help in their own partnership and multi-agency working. Trainees will be required to keep a reflective diary throughout training. This module will help trainees to maintain and use this diary to help them in their clinical practice.

Module Learning Strategies
Interactive workshops are used to explain, explore and develop understanding of key issues of relevance for this module. Participants are encouraged to draw on experience from supervised clinical practice during these workshops. A problem based learning exercise is also used involving a group and individual presentation and participants are again encouraged to relate this to experience gained during supervised clinical practice.
