Module Additional Assessment Details
Students will be required to complete 1 piece of summative assessment.
A literature review (3000 words) of work based on an agreed aspect of cognitive therapy with people with anxiety disorders

Addresses learning outcomes 1 to 3
Students will be assessed and required to demonstrate satisfactory achievement of the following:
- Details of an appropriate search methodology
- Review of relevant theoretical models
- Review and critical appraisal of a range of relevant research
- Synthesis of the findings of the research that has been reviewed
- Identification of implications for clinical practice & for further research

Students will be provided with formative assessment and feedback via structured written feedback identifying strengths, weaknesses and guidance for improvement.

- Phenomenology, diagnostic classification & epidemiological characteristics of anxiety disorders
- Assessment & formulation for CBT with anxiety disorders
- CBT for Specific Phobias
- CBT for Panic Disorder
- CBT for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
- CBT for PTSD
- CBT for Generalised Anxiety Disorder
- CBT for Health Anxiety
- Critical appraisal of research evidence - conducting literature reviews
- Theories & experimental studies of process with anxiety disorders
- Linking theory with practice - clinical trials & outcome studies of CBT with anxiety.
Module Learning Strategies
There will be ten full day teaching sessions during which the following strategies will be used
- Didactic teaching
- Review of therapy videos - to provide examples of the application of different approaches
- Seminar presentations - participants will prepare for and lead seminars on topics of relevance to the learning outcomes of the module
