Module Additional Assessment Details
Students will be required to complete 2 pieces of summative assessment:
2 x Evaluation of Clinical Competence (50% each). Addresses outcomes 1 & 2
Students must pass both elements of assessment in order to pass the module
Module Indicative Content
This module will require trainees to get a two month generic introduction across clinical psychology services. It will require trainees to develop their skills in observation and in receiving a range of supervision models. Trainees should begin to develop their skills in assessment in formulation ¿ thinking about the application of theory and how to gain consent. Trainees should be beginning to build on their communication skills and should be encouraging service user involvement and getting to understand to which service users are involved in service development. Trainees should have an opportunity work in a multi-professional team. They should establish joint working relationships and develop systemic formulations and begin to plan interventions. They should have the opportunity observe and offer consultation at different levels in partnership with staff and family members.
Module Learning Strategies
Participants spend a minimum of 128 days undertaking supervised clinical practice within a range of human service settings. During this time there are opportunities to learn through modelling and feedback & participants are also encouraged to integrate clinical experience with academic and research material.
