INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module runs concurrently with all workshops of the PG Certificate Stage, focusing on your continued personal and professional development which is cumulative throughout all Stages. It combines a dynamic mix of philosophical, theoretical, research and clinical based learning, aiming to provide you with opportunities to critically examine Person-Centred and Experiential principles and apply these to your developing expertise as an ethically minded practitioner. Specific attention is given to the interconnectedness of personal and professional development within the Person-Centred and Experiential framework. You will refine the use of audio-recording in the training and clinical context with consideration of the ethical implications of this endeavour as well as the potential benefits and/or detriments for both therapist and client. The development of professional identity is a primary focus with ongoing attention to the therapist developmental agenda via use of your learning journal, personal therapy and learning from within the training context, clinical supervision and work with clients in placement. Specific attention is given to consolidation of learning via self, peer and tutor feedback together with the compilation of a portfolio of written evidence enabling you to meet the requirements for registration with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy.
