INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module runs concurrently with all workshops of the PG Diploma Stage, focusing on your continued personal development and professional development which is cumulative throughout all training Stages. It combines a dynamic mix of philosophical, theoretical, research and clinical based learning, aiming to provide you with opportunities to critically examine the principles of Person-Centred and Experiential approaches and apply these to your developing expertise as an ethically minded practitioner. You are expected to continue within personal therapy, clinical placement and supervision and are encouraged to widen clinical experience wherever possible (for example, by securing an additional placement or broadening or increasing caseload). The development of professional identity is a primary focus with ongoing attention to the therapist developmental agenda via use of your learning journal, personal therapy and learning from within the training context, clinical supervision and work with clients in placement. You will continue to critically evaluate the use of audio-recording in clinical work and supervision and relational dynamics within groups are explored with an emphasis placed on personal learning. Specific attention is given to consolidation of learning via self, peer and tutor feedback together with the compilation of a portfolio of written evidence (see below), enabling you to meet the requirements for registration with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy.
