INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module runs concurrently with all workshops of the Independent Studies Stage, focusing on your continued personal and professional development which is cumulative throughout all Stages. It combines a dynamic mix of philosophical, theoretical, research and clinical based learning, aiming to provide you with opportunities to critically examine the principles of Person-Centred and Experiential approaches and apply these to your developing expertise as an ethically minded practitioner. You are expected to continue within personal therapy, clinical placement and supervision and are encouraged to widen clinical experience wherever possible (for example, by securing an additional placement or broadening or increasing caseload). The development of professional identity remains a primary focus with ongoing attention to the therapist developmental agenda via use of your learning journal, personal therapy and learning from within the training context, clinical supervision and work with clients in placement. Attention is given to the consolidation of this learning in order to determine professional readiness for UKCP registration as an autonomous, self-directed professional practising within the Person-Centred and Experiential framework. You will explore professional issues including maintaining professional memberships and registration together with consideration of ways in which continuing professional development might be undertaken post-graduation. Self-assessment together with peer and tutor feedback will support the compilation of a portfolio of written evidence enabling you to meet the requirements for registration with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy.
