Module Details
ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT DETAILS
8000 word reflective report weighted at 100% (assesses learning outcomes 1 - 4).

The reflective report will require students to identify and critically reflect upon the knowledge and skills developed during the course, and will be supported by an evidence base of academic literature.

Specifically, students will be required to identify, in four subsections of approximately equal length, how engagement with four of the sessions has impacted their personal development and learning, along with their employability and potential career progression. This will require them to synthesise knowledge gained through the lectures, activities, tasks, independent study and further reading. The reflection will also delineate how this knowledge has been applied to produce an appropriate action plan for the future, which will be included, along with a professional CV created via e-coach, as appendices to the report. Each week there will be several activities detailed in the lecture, for students to engage with. One of these activities per week will be required to be appended to the reflective report.

Additional Assessment Details (include formative feedback / assessment):
Formative feedback on activities and tasks will be offered via tutor-monitored discussion forums and wikis, with two scheduled hours per week (during the twelve main teaching weeks), when the tutor is present online and interacting with students synchronously.
INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module provides the opportunity for you to consider a range of evidence-based employability-related skills and knowledge. Learning materials grounded in theory and research will enhance your knowledge and understanding, while interactive tasks and activities are embedded throughout the module, to assist you in reflecting on your practical skills, understanding, professional development and employability.

In this module you will:

- Critically evaluate the processes and strategies involved in effectively seeking and securing graduate level employment, and in progressing within your career once you secure a position.

- Analyse the theoretical underpinnings of employability-related skills and strategies; such as networking, self-presentation, leadership and resilience.

- Develop evidence-based strategies representing your plans to apply your knowledge and abilities to cope effectively (both practically and psychologically) with the process of seeking, securing, and commencing graduate level employment.

- Have the opportunity to undertake practical tasks to help you to formally develop these strategies.
RESOURCES
This module will be delivered as a distance-learning module, housed in the Blackboard VLE, assessed online via Turnitin.

Sessions will be recorded (by the various contributors to the module), using lecture capture hardware and the videos will be uploaded to Blackboard.

E-coach will be used for preparation of CVs, and the careers network will deliver the e-coach session, supporting this process.

An online tutor will facilitate online tasks and discussion forums, encourage engagement, and monitor the VLE for queries.
